Distance Education and Online Colleges for Everyone
If you are wondering about me and how this site came to be, here is my story.
Hi, my name is Brenda and I love to save money. Of course, that doesn't mean I don't want quality and value for the money I do spend. I have 2 kids and want the very best for them… you know just like any mom. I have enjoyed a couple of careers in my life and recognize that education is the key. Life is just so much harder without some extra knowledge on board.
I initially went to school for my RN degree. Needing extra money I joined the Navy Reserve. While that was many years ago, I truly enjoyed it and felt it helped not only to educate me quickly but to help me become more responsible as well (I was still a teenager when I joined). While joining the military is still a viable option for college funds it has definitely become more risky than back when I did it.
I worked my way through my degree (full time for both work and college) and had my weekend and yearly commitments with the Navy. It was a very difficult time but well worth it. Back then correspondence college was just becoming an option for an RN and I wasn't too sure about it so never really pursued it.

Jump to today. I have been a nurse for many years and now also a writer and I even own several websites. (If you also have the entrepreneurial spirit and would like to see how I built this site see my how I built this site page for more info.) I love all of them but have started looking into advanced education for my children and online colleges seem to provide a lot of variety.
While my children are still a ways off from college I currently homeschool them and am very involved in their education. I want to be sure to be able to offer them what ever they are interested in when the time is right. Online colleges provide such a diverse opportunity for students that it's something I have become very interested in myself.
With all of the research that I have done for my children I have spoken to numerous colleges, family and friends who always seem to have a question they need answered. I have found I always seem to have an answer or am able to lead them in the right direction. This lead me to creating this site. My desire is to have one large resource for all aspects of online learning and distance education.
I think online learning has such a wealth of opportunity for so many. I wanted to put together a great resource that not only gave the names of colleges and universities but also helped answer the multitude of questions that seem to arise for those that are interested in following this path.
I hope to provide answers to some of the the most common questions and some that are not so common as well. Help you decide if an online degree is a good option for you, where to go and how to fund it.
I also hope that you will get tons of info from my site and if you have any questions that you to will ask me as well.
