How I Built This Site

Do you want to Build your
Own Website too?

How I built this site is my own online, work from home journey. Since it comes up so often, I thought I would share it here. For those who have taken the time to ask and wonder how it is done I hope this gives you all of the information you need to fulfill your own work at home journey.

After being a bedside RN for (too) many years I needed a break. I work in the NICU with the tiniest and sickest of the babies. While I really love what I do it is exhausting both physically and emotionally. I felt I needed to work part time to save my sanity and to have more time for my own children. I decided to work from home…

As you can imagine there aren't many jobs for a nurse at home. I needed to find something else. Research is my middle name and I started on my quest. If you have looked into working from home at all I'm sure you are familiar with those who tell you that you can work 4 hours per week and be a millionaire. Of course it's as ridiculous as it sounds.

I Need to Make Money From Home… Careful, Lots of Scams

During my research I came across all kinds of ways to make money from home The one that really appealed to me was starting a website. Of course there's also tons of misinformation on that topic as well and how I built this site was a long journey.

Starting a website is easy to do. There are lots of companies that offer you choices. But, once you have a site up it does you no good unless you have traffic to talk to. Many of the companies that give you the easy set up for a website or blog don't teach you how to then get visitors to your site. This was one of my concerns with building a site. If I made it, would anyone ever see it?

I came across a company called Solo Build It that sounded really good. Of course, being the person I am I needed to do tons of research on them. What I found was exactly what I needed. It was a business degree in a box (ok, on my computer). You not only get a website up but learn how to do it properly. They truly do teach you everything you need to know.

They give me all the tools to do it as well. See, I really didn't know how to set up a site but they gave me all of that too. They showed me how to properly research my topic of interest (no idea what to write about? They have that covered too), how to be sure I could make money with the topic, how to get found in the search engines and so much more. The nice part is so much of this goes on behind the scenes and I really still don't need to understand how it's done. It's done automatically for me.

Finding My Own Passion

They also allow me to research any topic to make sure there is enough people interested and will find my site. They also then give me the tools necessary to fully develop that site with keyword research. Believe it or not many people who come to Solo Build It with a vision of their site actually change what they make their site about. With the proper research you are shown whether it is a good choice or not for you.

There are many kinds of people who want to work from home and you find them all in the very helpful forums at Solo Build It. Some of the more common are the WAHM, college student, retired individual looking for some extra money and so many more. There is also a section that will show you some of the different people who have become successful with their own online website business. This section is particularly inspirational and was the last bit I needed to go ahead and begin my online adventure… I've never regretted it.

Now, one of the things I read frequently prior to finding Solo Build It was how easy it was to do a successful website. Well, it can be but not without lots of hard work. You can have a very successful online business but it doesn't happen overnight. Anyone who tells you differently isn't telling the whole story.

Now is it difficult to do the work? No. With persistence, hard work and some commitment from you, you can have one too. If writing isn't your strong suit, read this free ebook that is written especially to help with that. Make Your Content Presell is written by Ken Evoy, the owner of Solo Build It and teaches you how to write for the web. Even if you never acquire a website through Solo Build It, this free ebook is a must read.

I love what I am doing. It is fun and rewarding. I am home with my children, help people on a daily basis and make a nice income as well. It doesn't get any better than that.
