The work involves caring for sick and disabled patients under the supervision of RNs and MDs. LPNs also take vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse & respiration, aside from looking after the patients’ personal hygiene with bathing & dressing, preparing and administering injections, gathering urine samples for tests and even helping in delivering a baby and caring for infants. They observe patients and report negative reactions to medications and treatments.

All these tasks demand a professional attitude which must be possessed by successful LPN practitioners. These are as follows: caring, compassionate, emotionally stable and perspective.
